What is metabolic health?
Metabolism is how the body uses, stores and converts the energy we get from food. When these processes stay in balance, we call it metabolic health.
When the balance breaks down, blood glucose rises, fat accumulates around the abdomen, and blood pressure and blood lipids often worsen together. When several of these risk factors occur in one person, it is called metabolic syndrome.
